My name is Jeff Cobb, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I recently completed building the Glen-L Marine designed "Squirt" runabout. It's a small two seater outboard pleasure boat. 

I started the project in mid August 2007 and had hoped to have the boat in the water by the summer of 2008.  That didn't happen, but I finally launched the boat on May 31, 2009.    

The boat performed well with one adult.  It planed and ran at 20 mph according to GPS.  It would not plane with two adults (approximately 180 pounds each) in the boat. 

So, there's still some work to do.  The vintage 15hp motor is obviosly not powerful enough.  I plan to change out the motor to the same vintage OMC 25hp and move the battery and fuel tank forward to compensate for the extra weight of the heavier motor.  Additionally, my upholstery needs be completed along with other sundry miscellaneous items.
